Apartment homes in Singapore are very compartmentalised and compact without a seamless connection between the spaces. In this project we wanted to correct that, and our solution was to weave the living, dining and kitchen into one fluid space.

The main living, dining, and kitchen space has focal point on all four sides with each perspective redirecting your vision to a particular zone of space. We lined one of the strongest perspectives to the open dry kitchen. The long peninsula clad out of Lilac marble from Italy provides a striking contrast against the dark oak full height kitchen array. The dry kitchen is simple and sleek with hobs and hood all nicely concealed and barely noticeable, the idea is to redirect the eyes to the overall space and not the individual components of kitchenware.

The dining is anchored by tall metal cabinets which accentuate the height of the main area. These sleek metal cabinets provide a touch of modernity against the warm oak. The same metal lines are also followed through the use of metal glass doors which allows one to peer into the other spaces, extending one’s line of vision.

A comfortable home is when one achieves an equilibrium between cool and warmth. Between sleek lines an warm notes and in the design of this home we took extra care to constantly contrast and balance the cool notes with the warm furniture to achieve a balanced and comfortable home.
